Today I got two books at my favorite Calabasas library: “The Complete Encyclopedia of Antiques” and “Antiques Roadshow 20th Century Collectibles. I’m ready to dive into Antique world.
This week I have visited Kii Arens’ La-La Land Gallery and got this awesome Scorpions poster, wich is now hanging on my wall.
I have decided to participate in sketchbook project again! Last time I did it in 2011. I think sketchbooks make your creativity go up, and it gives you a deadline, which is important)
Getting inspired from the scenic design by Ugo Nespolo
Last weekend me and Jared went to Los Alamos to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Union Hotel wich is 132 years old and! Not too far from there is another original old western place - Cold Springs Tavern.
My first show in US took place last friday at the gallery Godo in Glendale.
These are the pictures I took at the exhibition at my favorite theatre in Moscow http://sdart.ru/
Sketches and models of theatre decorations and costumes… Very inspiring!
I’ve been feeling inspired last several days and I feel like writing about it! First of all I’m inspired because my artworks have been chosen by Godo gallery for a group exhibition and later for downtown LA artwalk. I also got inspired by documentary movie about Doors thats called “People are strange”. I always liked the CD that Jared had with different bands covering doors songs, but now I know more history about them, and how jim morrison went to film school in UCLA and how he was a poet, not only a rockstar, I didn’t know that before. It was also interesting to watch, because it has been all going on here, in LA, and I’m here now and it helps me to create my own vision of this city. It is strange when you come to the city and you don’t know anything about it, and it looks like a bunch of closed boxes stacked together, and you don’t know what’s inside them, so you start going to different places, meeting different people, you get involved in something, even listening to the songs and watching movies about this city, and after a while those boxes start to open and it’s not so strange anymore. You feel like you can see better
